Victorian Wall Art

Victorian wall art covers the long nineteenth century in Britain, when painting was narrative, richly finished and meant to be lived with. This collection gathers the storytelling canvases of that era: Grimshaw's lamplit streets and moonlit harbours, Waterhouse and the Pre-Raphaelite circle on legend and literature, Landseer on the stag, Alma-Tadema on the marble terrace, and the domestic and garden scenes that filled parlour walls. Deep colour, careful detail and a subject you can actually read. These suit a period house, a panelled study or a stairwell, and they take a gold frame better than almost anything else we make. Museum-quality framed giclee canvas in gold, silver, or dark bronze, made to order.
