The Process

Museum quality, by hand.

Every Canvas Classic passes through eight careful steps before it ships. Here is exactly what happens between your order and your front door.

How a Canvas Classic Is Made

Eight steps, by hand, every time.

From museum grade source files to a finished piece on your wall.

01
The Selection

We choose only the masterpieces, the paintings that have shaped how we see the world for two centuries. Public domain originals, sourced from museum collections and verified scans, so we can reproduce them honestly and at full fidelity.

02
Digital Restoration

Our team works painting by painting to correct color drift, recover lost detail in shadow areas, and lift the work back to the vibrancy it had in the studio. Decades of varnish, dust, and digital compression quietly undone.

03
The Substrate · Fredrix Canvas

We print on heavyweight Fredrix artist canvas, the same American manufacturer used by working oil painters since 1868. The tooth and weight of the canvas is part of why our pieces read like originals not like prints.

04
The Print · HP Latex Inks

Archival HP Latex inks, rated to hold color for a century when displayed indoors. We calibrate each press run to the original artwork's color profile so the colors stay rich and the shadows keep their depth.

05
Hand Gesso Embellishment

This is the step that separates a Canvas Classic from a print. Our artisans hand-apply a textured gesso finish across the canvas, building up the brushstrokes of the original work so the surface catches light the way an oil painting does. No two pieces are identical, by design.

06
The Stretcher · Appalachian Poplar

Hand stretched on a solid poplar wood frame sourced from the Appalachian forests. Poplar holds its dimensions through humidity changes; the canvas won't sag, the stretcher won't warp, the piece will sit flat on your wall for generations.

07
The Frame · Korean Resin Mouldings

Our gallery frames are imported from South Korea, the global leader in premium resin moulding. Water resistant, dimensionally stable, and finished in house in Gold, Silver, or Dark Bronze. Each frame is hand-fitted to the stretched canvas.

08
Inspection & Ship

Every piece passes a final inspection; corners squared, hanging hardware installed, dust removed, finish wiped. Packed in custom corner-protected cartons and shipped free across the United States with full tracking. Our in-house standard is to ship by the next business day (Mon–Fri), so most orders are on your wall within a week of ordering.
