About the Artwork
9, Place Pigalle (P. Sescau Photographe) – Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, 1894
Framed Canvas Reproduction
This whimsical and graphically striking framed canvas reproduction of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s 9, Place Pigalle has undergone meticulous digital restoration, perfectly capturing the playful composition, vibrant lime-green background, and intricate line work of the original 1894 lithograph. The restoration revives the vivid, acidic green of the studio wall, the deep terracotta-red of the woman’s elaborate gown, and the humorous, sketchy details of the photographer at work. This meticulous attention ensures this masterpiece comes to life on canvas with stunning authenticity, preserving its status as a delightful example of Lautrec’s ability to find artistic inspiration in the everyday professional lives of his Montmartre circle.
