About the Artwork
Painted during Klimt's Golden Period at the height of his artistic maturity, this second interpretation of the hope theme reveals the artist's evolved philosophical approach to motherhood and renewal. Following his controversial first version of Hope, Klimt created this work as part of his exploration of the eternal feminine, influenced by his deep engagement with Symbolist philosophy and his role as leader of the Vienna Secession movement.
